Me likey this decision. I just happened to see the SODA machine again today - at Best Buy. They were carrying the K-cups and coffee machine, too. There isn't the same excitement going into Best Buy now. When I found out how much they overcharge for mostly poor quality equipment, I started shopping online. The only items that interested me(for investing) were the cameras by Nikon and Canon. Everyone is a photographer or photojournalist these days.

I also went to Barnes & Noble and enjoyed the atmosphere. The main attraction is the huge Nook station setup as a Kid play area. Also another large section for kids books. All about the kids kids kids. I read a book on British history for an hour free then left. The real winner here is the Starbucks located inside. Everyone likes the chic feel and overpaying for coffee and snacks after browsing through some books. Too bad the stock is already up 600% since the 2009 low.

TRIB, Trinity Biotech is based in Ireland with mfg. plants in the US. They produce state of the art blood analyzing machines and reagents that are currently superior to those of similar companies with market caps 100X larger. Mrs. billy has direct knowledge in this field. Currently they are shipping worldwide as fast as the products can be produced. They specialize in point of care products. That means lightning quick results at the bedside telling if you have bad juju in your blood. Their stock is up 76% YTD, they have no debt, are 51% institutionally owned with a very low <1% short float. Based on the past 5 year and future 5 year earnings, they average 18.4% eps gain /yr.

            Watch GNVC:

This one is rising now due to a restructuring. Look for it to pop another 15-20% in the next 4-6 weeks.
(disclosure: I own some right now, and do not recommend buying it, especially not as a long-term investment. I'm just holding on for a short-term pop.)

Well, I'll have to correct you on that one, em2... Both SAM and SODA (your other pick) have done very nicely this year, SAM much better than SODA for sure. Both have thoroughly trounced the S&P's 30% rise over the last 12 months. Nice job!

Got my pop yesterday, and sold out at 1.85 with a 20%+ gain in less than a month! Christmas just came early for me...

My new (old) pick is SSRI. Just got in for under $6, and am looking to see this one double and triple with the price of silver over the next 2-5 years.

mimo, I don't like WDC, ORB, or TPC mostly because they are in terribly performing industry groups WDC bottom 12%, ORB bottom 24%, TPC bottom 11%.

CGX is in a decent group with a history of positive earnings surprises and upward revisions for next quarter. ERA is in a strong group top 4% with a nice upward earnings trend. I can't find any projected future earnings regarding ERA.

In addition, ORB does have a slight upward revision in earnings last 30 days. TPC has a bad earnings record with negative past surprises and downward revisions last 30 days.

DLTR Dollar Tree ($55.17). Recently misssed 3rd quarter earnings and got pummeled. I was in two different stores today along with 2 different stores of their competitors. The DLTR stores were packed, the others (Dollar General, Family Dollar) had employees standing around talking to each other. I like buying stock in companies whose product or service I have used or am familiar with.

Mimo, That's one problem I have with RAD. It is very highly rated by almost every source I look at, yet, the Rite Aid's near me have virtually no business. They just had to match buildings with CVS and Walgreens and in my area they've lost. And their prices are no bargain. Cold remedy at RAD 9.99 across the street at Kroger, 5.99 and probably a dollar less at Walmart. A few years ago they went on a building spree, thousands of stores. But maybe the numbers don't lie.
