yes, anyone beating the S&P by a factor of 20 deserves has earned the right to be considered a market genius. I, unfortunately, have failed to beat the S&P with my pick.

Which is why I consider it a smart move, if not actual genius, to follow $$MM and take his picking strategy over my own for most of my trades.

Interesting, I'm listening to the Squawk Box crew discuss why hedge funds are not beating the market yet managers collect $$$ in fees. Here on Mr. Market my pick has gained just over 30% in 5 months and I'm just above the middle. Which is what usually happens here.

What a wild ride in the market the past several days. Almost everyone in the green.
          Happy Independence Day. Be safe.

I may have to Buy the entire John Henry Mutual Fund when the POTY 2017 comes out. Sorry I'm bringing down the group.

Not a big deal. Forget about it. Anything can happen from now until the end of the year.

                      John Henry,

I would be interesting to see the overall results if a person would have purchased (or shorted) $1000 of each stock. I may do this if, and when, I can find time to hand enter the data. I imagine the group as a whole would have quite a double digit gain so far for the year.

Thanks for your work on this thread.

I came up with this result. Assuming $1000 into each stock starting from the top of the above list, present values of each position are now are now $3364, 2634, 2062, 1722, 1697, 1501, 1333, 1307, 1188, 1144, 1132, 1087, 876, 727, 494 for a total of $22268.

There are 15 stocks so initial investment was $15000. This give a 48% gain.

We are having a very good year so far. And by 'we' I mean you all... I'd rather not talk about my pick :P

48% is a pretty good number - Nice job Louetta. I am wondering now about similar results from:

I am wondering who were the top 5 overall in 2013-2016. I think River and billyjoe stood out.

I am wondering what the average return for the group was for 2013-2016.

Mimo, I really don't have that good of a record. Riverbabe, of course, is a powerhouse.

Just lucky! This year not so far. Imagine betting that another E. coli or Norovirus will put CMG under! Probably will sometime but a crazy long shot for this year. Saw a reputable article that SHLD is definitely on the shoals. Shouldn't be long now! Billy, you are a SUPER-STAR!!!! In fact, WE ALL TOGETHER have a truly remarkable record!
