What a mess the market has become. It actually pains me to post the standings this week. Ugh. What more is there to say? We are in for a year, I think. At least we still have one stock in the green, Minni17’s OGN. Keep up the good work. Oh well, hopefully some sanity will creep back into the world soon.

PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, March 18, 2022

Things looked up a little this week and we now have five picks in the green and beating the indices. Good work pickers. Vixtt’s SFT leaped into first place after a big week. Jiesen’s QDEL also had a very good week and moved into second. In third this week is last week’s leader, Minni17’s OGN, followed closely by Louetta’s GBTC. Let’s hope this upward trend finds some legs. Stay tuned.

It was a little bit of a rough week again, but five of our picks managed to stay in the green, and four of them are still beating all three of the major indices. Louetta’s GBTC went counter trend and had a very good week, vaulting back into first place. Minni17’s OGN continues to look like a strong pick and now sits in second place. Vixtt’s SFT follows up in third place with Jiesen’s QDEL in hot pursuit. Here’s to a good new week.

Good news. Every pick is generating more than a 100% return and beating all three of the major indices!!

… Come on, now … April Fools!

Nope the market is still a little iffy, but it’s not all bad. We have four picks in the green and beating the major indices. Louetta’s GBTC is doing very well and is in first place by a comfortable margin. Jiesen’s QDEL and Minni17’s OGN are neck-in-neck for 2nd and 3rd place with my DOCN a little father back, but still green. Let’s see if this market has some legs in the coming weeks.

PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, April 8, 2022

It was an interesting week, down overall, but good for a number of our picks. The leaderboard tightened up considerably with only 1.23% separating our top three picks: Louetta’s GBTC, Jiesen’s QDEL, and Minni17’s OGN. All three of these so far excellent picks are in the green and beating the indices. BillyJoe’s UTHR and Massimo’s IPA, in fourth and fifth places respectively, also made nice moves this week and could be headed for green territory if the market cooperates a little. I won’t hold my breath on that, though. There is still a lot of downward pressure on the market right now including an imminent raising of interest rates by the Fed, inflation, shortages, and the Ukrainian war. I even read an article this week that says we may even be headed into a major recession in 2023. Of course these brilliant prognosticators have been wrong as much as they have been right, but just the mention of the big R tends to put negative pressure on the market. All I can say is keep your powder dry and your fingers crossed.

In reference to my longstanding short pick of SHLD in this contest, as of March 2022 there are 23 remaining Sears stores. As of today, April 11, 2022, there are 3 remaining K-mart stores.

Oh brother, do I have to say it? This market stinks! The last two weeks have been pretty nasty, but what amazes me is that we still have three picks in the green. Congrats to our first three placeholders, Louetta’s GBTC, Jiesen’s QDEL, and Minni17’s OGN. We have a couple of more picks beating at least one of the indices, but they are still in the red. If this was a real money bet, I would have sold a long time ago. And here’s the thing. I think it’s going to get worse. Ugh. Hang in there folks.
