I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. I wish I had spoken with you earlier. Perhaps I could offer some advice now that has been profitable to me and would profit you, too.
I have been investing on the Canadian side. In other words, I don't buy these on the NYSE like you did today. BPT is a good company, but the dividend is lower on the American side. Would you like to make 16.4% instead of 8% dividend? Call you broker (in my case, Scottrade), and buy APF Energy Trust (AY.UN) on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Solid company. Would you like an even safer investment paying 14%? Buy Acclaim Energy Trust (AE.UN). Payout is only 50% of income, and if natural gas drops in price, can still maintain the dividend. There are some others, too. If you'd like to talk further, ask me, and I'll give you my advice/experience. I have done very well with these Cans.
Wow New-born, seems to me that we should cordially invite and perhaps humbling beg you to create a thread on this stuff! I'd really be interested and very grateful.
Do you think the market has hit the bottom today? And is this correction over? (shortterm)
Hi there. Actually, I was just about to post that Vector is bullish!
I actually misread it from Thursday's close and missed a nice S1 intraday buy at 38.23. I will be opening long at first support on Monday! The bull may be back baby!

I doubt that I can teach Spike much of anything about the markets, but I'll start a thread for Cans in the next day or two. And if I could offer any helpful advice or knowledge to anyone on this board, I'd be most pleased, because you all have been a blessing to me. And Spike has been a great big teacher! Thank you for the invitation.
You say 8 weeks or so. Let's say that between now and March 30, 2005, if BPT hits $55 just once (yes, I'll give you leeway on both time and price), I owe you some A&W root beer. And I'll even send you some Wisconsin CHOCOLATE CHEESE (wonderful stuff) and perhaps a chunk of Swiss, or whatever type of cheese you like best!

Wow New-born ... I would LOVE to hear read about your experiences with this type of investment. And I'd love to see a thread devoted to Cans. I think a lot of readers here would be interested too. I want to learn all about investing north of the border.
I'll keep you and Spike posted on what happens to the price of BPT. Hopefully it'll be able to maintain a healthy dividend.
Can you buy AY.UN and AE.UN from Scottrade's web site, or do you have to get broker assistance? I tried to get quotes from my Scottrade account, but I was unsuccessful.
Thanks for all you help. I really appreciate it.
Dave
Happy investing,
Dave
My opinion is worth no more than the price you paid for me to give it.
I'll write more later, but quotes can be had at TSX.COM.
You have to call Scottrade and talk to a real live person to buy or sell.
That is why Interactive Brokers is a better deal; you get to execute orders through your computer for less money and instant executions.

df, Keep watch on this for us, will ya?
As I set here on the sidelines today and continue to observe Silver Star Energy for the perfect entry I continue to come up with ? that I have not the answers to.
#1 == In Stock Charts:: if a person were to apply the zig zag option to a chart, is this how you may figure the path for the 1-5 wave count. Also what is this wave called.
#2 == When a person uses this method the 1-2 leg is always a downward move or am I wrong on this type of thinking.
#3 == Volume by price has also peaked my interest. Are you using this tool as a support indicator or is it to be used as another means.
Here is my take of this stock as of todays trading.
#1 == We are in a consolidating stage at this time.
#2 == There may be support forming at the buck o nine area becuse it has not dropped below this as of late.
#3 == The upper resistance could be said to be holding at $1.23 for it bounced off of this point in previous days of trading.
#4 == The RSI has not fallen below 50 here lately for any long period of time which also tells me that there is support looking in n this stock.
Just a short look at a stock in my port. which I'm tryingto use to futher my knowledge on the perfect entry. ===> M.E.A.

OK, the opportunity never presented itself yesterday, but there is a good opportunity right now. Limit to buy in at 38.20, which I see as good price support. If filled, my stop will be 38.00 (under lod).
EDIT: and if you're wondering why I didn't buy S2, let's just say had I been at the keyboard at the time, I probably would have. Had some things to do, so I missed it.

Can't find the ticker for Silver Star Energy. Help me out M.E.A.
1. No, zig zag isn't how I determine waves, although they are a good tool to help.
2. Wave 1 is up, wave 2 is down, wave 3 is up, wave 4 is down, wave 5 is up.
3. Volume by price I use, yes. If price is above it, it acts as support, when price is below it, it acts as resistance. If price falls through support, this is bearish, if it holds, it is bullish. If price can't break up through resistance, it is bearish, if it breaks resistance, it is bullish.
