NT, the bank robber
Thomrich,
I ought to keep my mouth shut. I know that, but I am having a hard time keeping quiet lately. I apologize in advance about what I am going to write.
Last Feb, Jim Cramer recommended this stock heavily. I took his "advice" and it fell like a rock. You see, the CEO, the CFO, a whole bus load of V.P.s, and other assorted mafia were fired last March for overstating earnings for the last four (4) years. It seems NT didn't earn any money after all; they pulled a Canadian Enron. (NT is a Canadian company). My question would be: is Enron still around? Was it a good buy on the way down? A friend of mine threw money at K-Mart as it declined and it finally went bankrupt, and left him and all stockholders holding the bag. The white collar gang formed a new company called K-Mart Holdings, but the previous shareholders get nothing, while the K-Mart Holding shares are $130+. United Airlines: a wounded dog that is surely going to die. Yet people buy its shares, perhaps because it is cheap. I like Spike's counsel: there are better charts and better stocks out there.
If you want to throw something in your portfolio for 20 years, why not buy a Canroy and earn 15%+? I think the long term prospects for oil and natural gas are pretty good.
Best investing to you. Always.

New-born,
You mentioned the new K-mart and there's something that has always puzzled me about it. As you said, the shareholders in the old K lost everything, yet the new K did well almost entirely on the basis of their assets, those being the billions in real estate , bought through the generosity of their former shareholders. Maybe someone can explain the loophole that allowed this to happen. You can bet the wheels are turning in some crooked CEO's head right now and this will be repeated. It might be legal , but it's not moral. No, I never owned stock in K-mart.

K-Mart's bankruptcy
BillyJoe,
The bankrupt laws of the United States are immoral. You asked about "the loophole" that allowed K-Mart to go bankrupt, and default on all its debts and shareholders. The problem is with your question: loophole should not be singular, but plural: "the loopholeS."
My problem and yours is avoiding these crooked CEOs. I got stung three diffo times by the corporate mafia, and I want to stand away from them.

1. No, zig zag isn't how I determine waves, although they are a good tool to help.
2. Wave 1 is up, wave 2 is down, wave 3 is up, wave 4 is down, wave 5 is up.
3. Volume by price I use, yes. If price is above it, it acts as support, when price is below it, it acts as resistance. If price falls through support, this is bearish, if it holds, it is bullish. If price can't break up through resistance, it is bearish, if it breaks resistance, it is bullish.GO BIG RED!!!!!
