Vector closed bullish. That should make some people happy

Exiting QQQQ short at eod at 36.25 for +2.2% on the trade.

I've decided to switch vehicles to trade off the Vector signal. Instead of Qs, I'll be trading EFA (EAFE Index iShares).

So based on the fresh long Vector, took EFA long this afternoon at 159.25. Let's see if EFA can't get some better swings happening.

            Spike,

            Two questions:

            1) What's a "Vector", you referred to it as closing bullish

            2) Is it a good idea to short stocks that run up on low volume? (e.g. ANTP today midday short @ 22.50)

            Thanks!

              Greetings Spike,

As soon as my account is funded,I like EWA also, and am looking to enter at support.I love QT,as it illuminates entries.I cant believe how much better Scottrade and QT combined, can make sense of price action.

When I was with Citibank,I basically entered arbitrarily,as they have no streaming data, charts,or stop loss capabilities.Im amazed I made a profit at all.

On another subject, both PWI and PVX look to have hit lower channels, and 50 dma ,post distribution.Im planning on watching for the traditional AM dump,
              and then buy at support.

              Hope this give you opportunity,

              cordially Tom

                confused & confounded

ATPL - posted twice about this on it's own thread and no comments. I don't get it. This thing is doling out $12.50 in dividend on April 8 to holders as of April 1. That would be a 50% profit from current values, yet there is no mention of this stock anywhere. Is there something blaring here that I don't get? Is there a special clause that the stock detonates and immediately goes to $0.25 upon distribution? Can you, Spike, or NB or anyone shed some light on this confusing situation?
                Thanks.

                • Greetings Spike,

Sorry to pick your brain again, but could you help me with QT?

I show no price data on the charts for the first hour of trading,Is this normal?
My charts all show trades beginning at 10:30.Any ideas?

                  cordially Tom

Vector is my unique proprietary (hehe buzzword for secret) tool that gives me my market bias. I measure it every day at the close of regular market hours. I'm happy to share the readings, but not the actual specifics of what it is, other than to say it is 100% non-subjective, easy to read, simple in design, and isn't affected by my own 'feelings' or perspective of the market.

On your second question, no, it isn't a good idea to short just for that single reason. I encourage shorting where the weekly/daily supports it, and price is at clear resistance, potential exhaustion, or breaking down from an identifiable pattern such as a double top or SHS. So if you see a light voluem stock that looks like it's completing a 5th wave up to resistance, then go for your life. If however, the same light volume stock is breaking out of a bullish pattern or resistance, then you'd be nuts to short it.

                      Thomrich. Greetings!
Really glad you're liking QT. The bonds have been released
Thanks for the headsup on PWI and PVX. I'll be watching.
With the QT times, here's what you are probably looking for.
                      Best to ya.

Has anyone tried TC2005's trading software? If so, any comments? Spike, why do you like Vector Vest?
                        Thanks,

p.s. please, somebody throw me a bone on ATPL.

                          Hey noshady.
ATPL: weekly bullish channel bust, with plenty of upside to the channel top. Daily bullish channel bust yesterday, but I would look to buy a pullback to the gap or 20. Quite an unusual gap pattern going on up here. Buy at support is what you want to do.

Vector Vest??? I have no experience with them. When I say 'Vector' I'm talking about my market direction indicator.

ATPL: here's the intraday chart. I'm not liking it yet. It's like fine wine....ya gotta let it brew

                              Thanks Spike,
I appreciate the info always! yes, the chart is flaky but with 50% give-away I still thought it was worth a discussion.
                              Thanks again.
