    Review

    LOOK review:
    further to chart: http://img47.photobucket.com/albums/...ould_hit_2.jpg
I note 2.77 was reached, but couldn't fill the gap.
Now, you can see where people took profits at dual channels:

      VNT bullish

      VNT:
I would look for a pink channel long for this one. Has a nice SHS target. Previous chart is: http://img47.photobucket.com/albums/..._long_soon.jpg

        Thanks.
Just a quick look at the charts and I'll do graphs later. VLO and KCS have had good runs and have been similarly . I like them both, but a little lower entry a couple weeks ago was the channel entry time for them. I like VLO while it stays above 70, and KCS while it stays above 12.80. If those levels break, I'd bail. Having said that, personally, I'd not go long until another short-term lower channel touch.

EFEX, is that the correct ticker?? can't find it.

          MORE eyes the better

Hey, if anyone else is now using channels and they spot something that has just made a channel touch, post it! The more eyes the better.
          Thanks

            • Whoops! I meant EPEX, not EFEX, sorry spike. VLO hit a new high today. I also found another gas & oil company, TSO. It too hit a new high.

                Hey all,

Check out LCAV, nice cup and handle forming I was able to pick up some today at 26.90. I think we are getting ready to pop, earnings are out on the 27th.

careful with LCAV - just had an upper channel short signal today. Lower channel down near 22.50 is possible:

Spike, can I ask you to spell it out for me what the short signal was? I see the channels you drew, but couldn't they be drawn on almost any downslant of the handle? I need you to hold my hand and give it to me slow and easy cuz I'm missing something here.
                      Thanks

OK, no problem. The answer is simple. I am not drawing the channels at all. Stockcharts.com program is doing it. Every chart in this thread shows channels that are drawn by that site's charting program. I don't do the estimation of channel angles and width....it's all done by some complex formula that is beyond me

And I take the signal to be where there is a channel touch using those charts. It's simple, it's consistent, and it's dependent on a consistent formula. There are lots of channels I see where there is no channel touch, or it has come close to a channel touch. Sometimes I show those charts too. But every time you see a channel touch in this thread, it's a channel that is drawn by a program, and not me. Got it?

And for me, a channel touch is the first signal. I then wait for a second signal to open a position. That second signal can be one of a number of things, but mainly it is intraday patterns, like flags, wedges, double bottoms, double tops, head and shoulder formations. I also use intraday support, resistence, and pivot points to open positions.

To try for yourself, go here: http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=lcav,uu[h,a]daclyyay[dc][pb50!i!f][vc60][iUa6,13,4!Ld20]&pref=G
and then click on "Add Annotations" and a java chart will open. On the top you will see a row of tools. Find the one that says "Raff Regression Channel Tool" and click it. Then using click and drag, you can place a channel on the java chart. You will see how the channels change, and that the use has no ability to control the width of the channel or the angle of it. It's based purely on mathmatical formula.

Well, I let my quotetracker software do it for me. I use the 'pivot points' indicator automatically place them on my chart. You get the pivot, R1, R2, S1 and S2. No need for me to do any calculations and I like it that way!!
