Ugh! Mr. Bear here. I would suggest that you visit the link below and look at six ugly charts. Trouble ahead.

    THIS IS A BEAR MARKET.

      Rio

The 2nd most active calls on the market are RIO $30 DEC '05 calls. Sell one and get $9.90.

The sixth largest most active calls out on the market are the OCT 'O5 ELN $5 calls that expire Friday, and there are 78,000 out there! Do you think ELN will do something this week?

        Ofg

OFG is now a $10 stock. It has lost 2/3 of its value in since April, 2004. Its a dirty shame.

Oh ya. I'm sitting quietly confident from the short entry this morning. It should drop nice and quick once 8.27 cracks.

Ya, ouch. Your post prompted a search back to my last comments on OFG in my thread, and I accidentally posted it there rather than here in reply to you. It is a dirty shame. But the TA was there alright.

              Spike,
Your call back when OFG was a $30 stock saved me a lot of dough. I bought after MM, and I had a profit for awhile, but did not take it. I was waiting for the 15%. Then you came on the scene saying "caution longs," and I took your advice and bailed. Good advice, wasn't it? I bailed and it never did recover.

True, Mr Market has failed to profit on OFG yet, but I must say that his record for picking winners is exceptional. Mr Market is still the best stock picker on the planet. Come to think of it, I believe I'll conduct a poll.

No argument from me about MM being the top stock picker on the planet. I am just bemoaning the fact that OFG has not recovered as of yet. I am regretting that she doesn't look capable of popping up over $30 in the near term. I have been following it daily since April, '04. I have daytraded it many times. Unfortunately, right now it is not even a daytrade candidate. This stock just sinks lower and lower. There is no upside movement. Hopefully it will show new life in the near future.

                    NBB,
Are you still holding those calls you sold on BHMC. Haven't heard you mention anything about them but that one turned out to be a big score.
Was it the Dec. 80's or 85's that you sold. Just curious if you're still in the trade. Might be time to start thinking of taking something off the table.

Well NB, as it turned out it was great advice. I’m glad you listened!

Your post prompted me to go back in the thread and ya know what!? OFG is the first stock I ever examined in this thread. It was post #7 of the thread, and ForeverInvesting asked the question:

“What is the lowest price level do you see and what is the most probable downside price level do you see price level for OFG?

                      And my reply was:

“As for lowest price I see, I always remember the Enron story, which is a great reason to never compromise stops. They will save you, so learn to love them.”

And what a haunting lesson that is today.

Now, I’m not criticizing anyone for trading OFG on the long side, or even bag-holding it from the top - if that was their plan, to hold it no matter what, and they were well diversified, and it was just another play in their grand scheme, then great..they’ve stuck with their plan, and all is well except for the direction of this one stock out of the many they hold. I don’t question that kind of a trading plan/strategy as long as the trader is well diversified and isn’t going to blow it one or a few of MM picks that happen to tumble.

But I think I covered this point very well in the ‘swing trading MM picks’ thread, where there were several that lost big percentages. It was clear that for a short to medium term investor who can’t time the market and doesn’t use stops that it is very very very wise, in fact vital, to diversify. Otherwise, it’s just a matter of time before you take a big hit.

See, MM can handle one or two or three train wrecks because statistically his model works because he diversifies. But if someone threw half of their portfolio at OFG back up there then that person has lost some significant coinage. That person now KNOWS that a stop would have helped them.

Like I said in that reply, “It’s better to lose $200 on a stop than $2000 by compromising one”....or in OFG's case, better to lose $200 on a stop than 20K by compromising one! eek ugh!

Oh, and by the way, (Karel if you’re reading??), I note that a person called ‘Richard’ edited my post number 7 a whole 5 months after I posted it and this unknown Richard never placed a notation of the reason there. That doesn’t pass the smell test with me. I hope he is an admin! Shoot, I just did a quick check and I note he also edited MIMO’s post (number 12) regarding OFG too …….5 months later. I wonder what is it about those OFG posts that needed to be edited?

What? Communist infiltrators on the MM site? Incredible!

Richard is the admin who set this whole site up, I'm sure he doesn't care one way or the other what you say about OFG, but probably just edited the posts to resize the charts or something to save bandwidth. Both of those posts had similar-style charts if you noticed. I agree tho that a reason would be helpful.

Praise the Lord......and pass me some good stox..LOL

NewBorn I like the following charts ADSK , INGR and NURO .......NURO and INGR look as if they could be candidates after a pullback...but ADSK looks as if she is ready to run. Incidently RIO is a buy when it trends up to 40.25 and a tight stop is set at 39.00 according to my Stock Signal Pro program. I dont think Mr M believes in stops.......I think he just lets the stock run.....but then again ..... who can argue with a record like his.........the guy is good!

Yes, I checked out your charts.
Not in love with RIO right now.
                                Really liked INGR--what a chart!
                                ASNK--I don't know . . .
                                NURO: nice!

Thanks for posting! I'll watch these stocks.
