I'm going to make some trades today. I'll explain them, too:

sold ATHR @ 22.40 - I see intraday resistance and the previous run-up of 10% should see some profit-taking
sold USLM @ 32.66 - earnings should be reported tonight (in my LT account, and my MOMO account I still hold, but for the purposes of this spreadsheet, I am selling)
sold AP @ 35.40 - this was my weekly steel play, and the week is ending

The others will most likely be carried over to next week.
I want to update that USLM earnings will most likely not be reported tonight. Maybe next week. And, because I have chosen to sell USLM today for this spreadsheet, does not mean that I have changed my viewpoint of the company. I still feel very strongly about the LT potential with this company, and I continue to hold my real position.

The plays made with Ski's spreadsheet are 90% real life plays. For example, I do not really own VLG, but I wanted to display the stock here on Ski's spreadsheet because I like the company and I saw a opportunity for an earnings play. Obviously, it's not working out the way I had intended, but it is very similar to plays that I actually do for real. Also, I never sold any shares of USLM in any of my portfolios in real life today or any day this week.

Ski, I'm not sure what you said before... Did you only want the real life plays here? Am I breaking your rules? I think regardless of any rules that you have (I don't think you have any, though)- that from now on, I will only post the real life plays that I want to display here. No more of the fake stuff. You guys will know exactly where I'm coming from.

I thought that when I said post your portfolios everyone would and did understand what I meant. No big deal. Just the real actual stocks that you own in you portfolio. No kidding or faking or anything like that please.
There is one question that I do have with this. If VLG did go off and was a big gainer would you have told us that you were faking or would you have riden the praise and acknowledgement route out without ever mentioning all of this. I don't know what you did or didn't do with USLM and it's no big deal if you claimed that you sold some off. Just keep it straight from now on.

I'm not sure that I do know where you're coming from bud. What do you think? This paragraph just amazes me. I can appreciate honesty and that's a good trait but this paragraph just amazes me. Every sentence of it amazes me. But just forget about it and only positions that you actually own from now on. Jeez, you've got your own whole thread to post on as many ideas as you want and yet you found it necessary to put up one that you didn't own because you thought it was a going to be a good play. And then promise to never do it again. Ok, we accept. Never do it again please.

          I am simply.... amazing

Never again, dude, never again! I'll change that to 100% reality here, and keep the ideas to my own little neck of the woods.

And, regarding VLG, I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I had told all my friends here that I really made money when I didn't. I wouldn't try to purposely deceive anyone that way. If you'd like to see the transactions as a screen shot from my Ameritrade account, I can do that so everything is set straight. Or, you could take my tarnished word...

Where did you get HWCC from Whiz?
            Whiz,
See what I was talking about. It's now a good deal lower and might even go lower from here. I'm a buyer this afternoon sometime just before the close. I'll post the play when I make it.

              Skiracer,
I know it might seem a little bit incredible but I sold ERS @ 16.64 around 1 o'clock today, during my break period @ school.
Your right about HWCC, at this price it looks like a really good buy.
Got HWCC from someone else in this forum, don't remember who.

I still have this question, how do you prevent getting stopped out on massive spikes down that are completely erased within an hour? This happened to me on iaac this morning, and on SONS a few weeks ago. Is there a way to prevent that?

                Ski:
Didn't like at all what ELN is doing. Sold at 15.10.
Same with CDNS. Sold at 17.90.

                    Gator,
I didn't like it the other day that's why I bailed at 15.20. Webs held on and what seemed like a good play holding on is now in the red. So like me you lose a decent amount on the position and you had it in the green for a little gain yesterday. Why didn't you sell it at above 15.60? I welcomed the chance to get out at 15.20 the other day and although a .55 loss it was still way above my 7% stop loss point. It might be a decent short right here.

I'm down 2% at this time on ELN. I'll be taking a closer look at it this weekend. I like it long term, but I not going to ride it down either.

No I don't think there is a way to stop that and you never know that they are going to come back. The point is to stop the loss at a reasonable point. You have to figure it out as to what is comfortable for you. If you are stopped out and the stock begins to make a move back up and you think that it is going to go off then you can re-enter at a lower price and the loss from the stop loss is wiped clean with the new entry at a lower price and the position is a new trade altogether. This is the only way to limit losses and deal with getting stopped out other than setting the stop way way below any chance of getting stopped out but then you are below any reasonable stop loss point. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. It is one or the other. You must stop the losses short to be able to have 5/6 losses and 3/4 winners out of 10 to work out mathematically. Beautiful play on ERS and time to take those gains before you start to give some back. Very nice play all the way around. I know that you didn't have a set plan but go back and review all the facets of this trade and work out the mathematics of it to do in the future.

I'll take your word for it. Then USLM & VLG are not real positions so I should disregard any commentary on what you may or may not have done with them today and omit them from your portfolio as they are not real holdings in your portfolio. Just set me straight as to what I should delete and keep and the numbers for the ones that are solid please.

It's a thin line between profit/loss and one day to the other isn't it? You had it by the beezers and were in control of the trade yesterday. It never fails to amaze me how these things can change from one day to the next. Don't procrastinate or you'll be down farther. Looks like it could be setting up as a short. This could see 13/13.50 levels very easily.
