This stock could easily go to $10.60 / $12.50 range. On the weekly it is above all of it's moving averages but on the daily it is knocking up against the 200 ma right now. It hit it last week and was unable to breach that level. Now it's back for a second try. If it breaks through the 200 at $8.89 it's clear sailing to $10.50 and above.

No offense Ski...But that is not a Cup w/ Handle...It is also not technically a double bottom. Hate to be a Stickler...Just setting the record straight...But I do like it and as you may have seen I added it to my Killer Watchlist on my thread...Thx...Doug(IIC)"Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"

For KLIC to be a C&H formation, it would have to already be in a longer term uptrend, and the bottom of the cup should be at previous support along the uptrend. I think KLIC is trying to look like a technical turnaround play, but I am not convinced, yet. Maybe I'll be late to the game if I do decide to play this, but I think it is too risky right now to be long.Hide not your talents.

Yes...the reason it is not what I would call a "Classic" Cup w/ Handle is because it was not in that prior uptrend...Ideally, you would like to see about a 30% move up to the left side cup high...then the rounded bottom would be on lower volume until it goes for the right side cup high on higher vol...Then the handle drifts down on lower volume until it reverses and breaks out(if it does) on 1.5x or more ADV past the Flash point.
Unfortunately, WON cheats quite a bit in IBD and even his books nowadays IMO...Like the Double Bottom(There was one description in the IBD 100 that was wrong today...I don't feel like going back to find it tho)...Theoretically on a "Classic" DB the right side low equals or is lower than the left side low...Does it matter???...I don't really know...But, I believe that CS changes the rules to suit marketing objectives...Anyway, I agree that KLIC is worth watching..."Classic" or not...thx...Doug(IIC)"Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"

Doug/Peanuts,
I know the definition of a true cup/handle formation but Spike has convinced me that there are times where "Spike's fuzzy logic formations", can apply to a chart formation when the classic definition isn't fulfilled. I also like the weekly chart for these reasons:
On the other hand I took a look at the chart that was used as an example of what Peanut posted for the definition of a cup and handle formation. I must admit that I took some liberties with what I called as a cup and handle on the daily but in all honesty which one of the two examples would you feel more confortable with between what I called a cup and handle and Peanut's example which I'm posting below. And there no offense taken just because someone corrects or disagrees with my take on it.

Doug,
Just kidding . I want to be one of the original buddies , neighbors of , like when Buffet started. You could buy my old business and through your business acumen build it into a mutibillion dollar empire with an obscure symbol that can fly under the radar until we're er you're rich . Not an old textile mill, but an abandoned greenhouse will be the road to fame.
