I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Lets see if I have this right...your contention is he was distracted from the markets by my shoulders? This for me may portend an important new trend since I am not particularly well endowed with the more traditional female attractions.
To tell you the truth...I'm a bit disappointed Louetta...Not that you don't look great in the half body shot...But I like your eyes and now I can't see them as well w/ the new look avatar.
Fortunately I saved your old one as my screensaver

If you'll look at my profile picture you will notice that you can't see my eyes, because I'm always squinting in my pictures...
Back to the market. I've been messing around looking at charts of stuff like the NYSE and NAS 100 looking for possible clues of which way we're going and convinced myself I saw a turn upward so late this afternoon I bought 5 stocks. I got a list of the top-rated stock in each of the IBD groups and started going thru the groups alphabetically til I found 5 charts which seemed to also look like they might be headed up and bought a small position in each just to have some horses in the race. BMO BAP GVA HMSY and WW. Looks very impressive since all five went up today but I didn't buy til late so I didn't benefit by that.
BAP is one that turned up in a couple of my screens recently, and I did a little research on it. I never bought it, but I do remember thinking that it looked like a very good prospect.
Let's get real. Doug will have a "Louetta Worship Page" up and running before you know it!!!
Your picks:
BMO - low vol, can be tough to exit your position, notice how many days in previous 30 day its daily vol figure was below the MA
BAP - continues rise above its ATH breakout beyond 30/sh; I try to buy those at about +5% above the pivot; have to be watching for it, like with an alert
GVA - brand new b/o above 51/sh. Great pickup, let it go! Maybe use the 20DMA as your trailing stop.
HMSY - it's cranking along hugging the 20DMA till next resis (Nov '96) at 15/sh; very nice technical combo of RSI uptrend and bullish ADX -DI/+DI separation
WW - recent ATH b/o on earnings above 36/sh; probably will pullback, as low as 36/37/sh area, to setup your next buy
