I have 35 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. In my scans for CwH's which I'll post a little later I ran across 2 that are forming the right side of a cup...The first one is UNT...I show a weekly chart below.
The second is XTXI which really doesn't qualify because the run up to the left side high was not enough...But it is interesting nonetheless...I show a daily chart of XTXI...Doug(IIC)
GiFi === Take a look an see if this cup handle, if so is this where the price / share trends upward
ASH === Take a lookan see if this is a base of a cup

Good eye MEA...But IMO GIFI was not really a Cwh...My take is that it needs a 20%+ move up to the left side cup high...some say 30%+
On the pattern you are seeing though...It already broke out.
Let's look at ASH
Could be forming a cup...appears possible...But only time will tell. Watch for the right side of a cup to form on increased volume.
Keep 'em coming...I don't post here that often because hardly anyone seems interested...CwH's are really a Bull Market chart...But I keep posting them at my site every weekend...For practice if nothing else...The market will get better...Eventually...I made over 80% of my profits last year from late April till late October when the market was good (sans a few summer weeks)

Well look at that. The day after I see it, CGPI goes up nearly 30%. It's because of a merger though, and not the cup with handle, but still...wish i woulda gotten in on that one.
And NITE is having a nice up day, just about to break past it's previous high.
What do you guys think of NITE and CGPI? Both look like they have already started the handle. NITE had a big up day today, but not on high volume. Do these usually need high volume to trigger a breakout?

The Mr. Breakout definition of a BREAKOUT is at least 1.5x Average Daily Volume(50 Day ADV)...But that doesn't need to happen until it actually crosses the flash point or pivot point

I listed it in my candlestick thread because it's been declining and then had a bullish engulfing pattern a couple days ago, but it hasn't gone up yet much. But then I was looking at it and realized that it looks like the beginning part of a cup with handle.
Ski, I know that this is where you like to catch, when it's at the base of the cup, but what do you think of this pattern? Does it look promising at all?
I looked at the daily and at this point it would be to early for me. but it is forming what appears to be a cup base. I like to see them more uniform in the shape of the U and not to ragged in the channel of high points and low points as it forms that U shaped base. but this could work out and go on to form the right side of the cup base. it really is only a stock that has gone thru a uniform progression of highs and lows in finding it's bottom and then as things pick up does exactly the same procedure with the right side except up this time.
