I misspoke in above quote. BEC got into trouble by not following proper procedures with the FDA when they made changes in the lab tests for Triponin enzymes to detect heart damage. Now the test can only be run on certain machines that may not be used by mainstream hospital labs. This had been one of BEC's biggest moneymakers and will cost them hundreds of millions until things get straightened out. It has probably cost the CEO his job along with other corporate upheavals and miised earnings as well as lowered guidance.

Beth still says BEC will make a big comeback but I can't determine when it will start. They didn't go thru proper channels and can't market many of their top reagents. It took a nearly 20% drop in July and has held steady since.

JMHO, but it has broken down through the 9 and the next stop might be the 20 at 14.08. There's no news, so I think it's the down market. I'm going to wait and test the waters again tomorrow.

ALXA - Hold, sell or put?

This is a useful lesson in risk management re. baby biotechs. I'm a bit of a gambler at heart, so I'm holding ALXA for now, not giving in to the temptation to buy more at this GA (god awful) price. They have been in constant discussion with the committee members at the FDA, so I'm hoping against hope that all the bugs have been worked out. CRY, all you shorts!

Good for you. I have a full position and no free cash. These da## biotech stocks are not for the faint hearted. Somebody's doing a lot of manipulating, selling. Maybe the shorts loading up.
