  • I have the chart extra package. I'm thinking about getting the live charts. It is not streaming, but I still can see a use with it. I use a PDA that allows to to keep an eye on things when I'm away from the house. I use a GPRS card to hook up to the internet.

IB has a link just for PDA's also scottrade does. I only use these 2 brokers.

    • Another cool thing about my PDA is I can be anywhere in the U.S. and hook up to the internet. I've got a program that gives me live data, but no charts. I access stockcharts and look at my charts. Also my PDA is a great tool as a back up if my power goes down or cable goes out.

T-mobile only charges 31.00 per month for unlimited internet hook up.

        Runner,
Are you using a PDA or a smart phone like a Blackberry or something similar?

Ski, I have a HP PDA with no smart phone. I've got a card that has a sim chip and install it in the top of the PDA. The sim chip is from t-mobile. This allows me to hook up.

            Runner,
Sounds like you're pleased with the setup. Does it give you everything you need and can you trade through your brokerage with it? What model HP? Thanks.

I wonder if a PDA would work while I'm working at the prison. It would be great to be able to check my stocks and maybe make a trade or two, when I'm not busy trying to restrain some 6'4" convict by the name of Tyrone who's mad because someone tried to make a move on his little punk boyfriend. Man, I hate days like that.

                $80 a month,unlimited access.

Causes me to watch a little to much while working, plus got me hooked on online poker.I thought I was good till I went all in with a pair of Kings, and other guy flopped 3 6s on the river.$50 tournament would of paid me 300.

                cordially Tom

I've been thinking of a Blackberry with the program eSignal markets but haven't made up my mind yet. Actually looking for the best deal for the cheapest price.
I see that you love the action. I also don't or can't afford to take to much time away from business and work. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to pay for the Blackberry and the other services. BTW thanks for the info.

                    Webs,
You'd have to be real careful about watching your back when you're watching your PDA and the stocks. Are you a prison guard? What facility. I have a cousin who is a guard at Rahway Prison here in NJ. He says the inmates refer to the guards as doing life or more time in the prison than most of the inmates. When you think about it, it's kind of true going there everyday for a good portion of your life. At least you leave after the shift is over.

I used to work shift inside the prison, but I have a fairly low stress job away from the facility now.

                        Webs: FYI

                        Webs, Runner, et al
I took your advice and bought a new computer. I took the losses from KBH and bought this thing with 24 months of free interest. (Couple more trades like that one and I qualify for welfare. ). It is a hyper-threading 3.0 Gig Hewlet Packard with a 19" screen. I am looking forward to posting larger charts with even more worthless and confusing bile for notes! Quote tracker--here I come!

By the way, do you know how hard it is to daytrade without charts? You have to mentally make charts with volume notes in your head as the ticker streams on.

Just to be honest with you, I sold 100% of my KBH position, and when it started back Friday, I bought back in, only at 1/3 the size. I bought in at a lower price (only about .20 lower than the sell price). I watch the sister stocks as well, TOL and BMHC. I figure KBH isn't going to do anything that the sisters don't do. BMHC took it hardest of all Friday. I think this one might be the most interesting one to daytrade. KBH is exhibiting the most strength in the group.

Reminds me of a story about this guy who was trading stocks inside the the Big House...made a bundle...like 600k in 2 yrs...said he used WSJ and IBD...I always thought IBD should have featured him in their "Smart Investor" col.

First thing that strikes me is the weekly bearish nature of the chart; double top, truncated 5th wave, heavy vol by price up top. From the 5th completion, it's likely done the 'a' correction down, currently doing the 'b' correction up, and I'd expect a 'c' down in the next 2-4 weeks. If the 'c' fails, there's your double top confirmation and it has a potential in that case to fall to 7.50 support.

Now to the daily; I'd recommend looking for a channel short day on the daily to coincide with the completion of the 'b' correction to target 'c' down.
                              Comments in the chart.

Also, what do you think of IPII? it got wacked on earnings today (down like 25%). what does the chart indicate there?
                                thank you chart master.
                                Hey Funda, welcome.

ALY acting VERY Bullish. Channel long Wed, with channel turn up at Fri close. For me, green light to be aggressive up here, but r/r a concern. I'd look for a bullish pattern like inverted SHS with neckline break, and put stop below the head. Otherwise, just take the intraday pivot long and put a 4% stop on it, but this one could get volatile and take your stop and turn, thus why I'm suggesting a pattern.

IPII: Expanding channel long on the daily which signals caution to longs. Very bearish lower channel break down from the top, which I'd take as an exit signal for any longs. It has a potential bullish zero line reject on money flow, and is at clear price support.

The intraday pattern on Fri's drop is a 1 min double bottom, with uninspiring action in the afternoon. I would have preferred to see a larger time frame pattern develop. Fri's early bounce looks like a 'dead-cat bounce', and I'd not be holding it long, nor taking a new long.

                                Hope that helps.
