I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Webs, I don’t know if you noticed our humble, little community on the national news within the past few days, but we had a tragic incident, in which an inmate, being taken to a hospital for treatment, grabbed the gun of a deputy who was transporting him and, in the process of escaping, shot a hospital security guard. According to a story in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the escapee/muderer’s “hands were not cuffed together and his legs were not shackled,” due to wrist and ankle injuries he claimed he had suffered from a fall. The security guard died, and so did an officer whom the scum bag shot while ploice were engaged in his hunt and apprehension.
My wife works in a hospital and tells me she sometimes finds herself riding in the same elevator with a cuffed and shackled inmate being taken for medical treatment. I hope that if you ever transport inmates to wherever, you always keep them bound hand and foot. If not, you and/or others could wind up dead.
This dude "Morva" was in a county lockup not a prison like Websman "runs".... I'm sure Florida State Pen personnel take a little more care to follow procedure than a Montgomery County, VA deputy might.... And I'm sure Webs would not have helped pull the dudes trousers up after he used the toilet or be so concerned with Morva's freakin' sprained wrist. The first deputy (who had his Glock 40 stolen and who was NOT shot with it) was just plain stupid.... Two other men are now dead because of his stupidity.
Is it just me or does this dude look a little like "Peanuts"?....SsSsSsSsssss!

Screw-ups happen at all levels. They just do. Webs responded that their policy is to never transport anyone unshackled. (Apparently deleted for some reason.) I'm sure that's the policy in the Montgomery Co. Sheriff's Dept. too, but you know how it goes with human beings. One thinks, 'okay, I can make an exception this once, due to these extenuating circumstances,' and then, whammo!

Now that you mention it, I guess he does a little. Heh heh. That reminds me, I watched a 1951 movie called "My Favorite Spy" on Turner Classic Movies last night, in which Bob Hope played a character named "Peanuts White."
#2 I don't work at Florida State Prison, But I do know that they don't take any **** from inmates down there. If one gets out of line they just make it look like he had a nasty fall, or fell down the steps.
Hmmm...I wonder if the housing bubble is about to burst. I read in our local paper that home sales are down by 58% so far this year... The prices dropped a little but not enough to reflect this kind of down turn. More price reductions to come...

It already did burst...I have never seen so many open houses on the weekends in my life than I have the past 3 months...It will really get bad next year...I'd say average housing prices will deflate 15% + in a year...Doug(IIC)

Housing market will crash only if buyers go away completely...not likely.

Yesterday's article in Biz Week called the downturn in home building an "inventory correction." Hmmm... At what point do they talk about "demand destruction"? Only after several more Fed rate increases? (Now maybe those increases won't be happening anytime soon?)

The problem is, in my area, that home prices have gotten out reach for all but the wealthy. The typical 30 year mortgage payment with fees and insurance now runs well over $2,000 per month. A family with an average income cannot afford that.
Plus insurance is getting hard to find in Florida. I've been dropped twice in the past couple of years.
I'm just glad that I already own a home and am mortgage free.
