  • Greetings NBB,

As a way of paying back to all the info given freely here,I have a small tidbit.

Burlington Resources is selling 8million units of PBT,likely due to upcoming merger with COP.Ill post a chart later, but it represented a great buying opportunity the last time they unloaded.

As an income play, its distributing at 12% ,with another increase likely to be announced soon.IMO any units bought near 15 are a gift.Ill keep you updated.

    cordially Tom

Thank you for the Christmas gift, Tom. PBT at $15 is A BARGAIN. PERIOD.
All readers should consider loading up. I expect $3.50 gasoline around May/June 2006.

      • Greetings,

        Heres the chart:

As you can see BR dumps in loads, and this baby is gonna announce +.16 next week for January payment.

I was baffled that this was on the SHO list, now its clear someone knew BR was going to sell.Too short a low volume trust paying in excess of 12% seemed like suicide.Short ratio is over 11 days.

Hope we can make a buck one way or another on this one.

        cordially tom

          Pete,
I'm commenting on this stock because it has appeared on a couple of my scans an I have been watching it of late making the right side of a base on the weekly chart. The daily does present what appears to be an ascending triangle but I would look past the daily and give some consideration to the weekly where that last small candle is a doji representing a tug of war and some indecision going on. Also volume dropping pretty good over the last week and this week and a couple of channel short signals. But what I would really be concerned with is todays action. Here is the weekly and todays 10 min. chart. Notice those long tails. Highs of the day and couldn't hold up under light volume and selling pressure. Has some strength issues? Fundamentally they have raised eps estimates recently above analysts consensus, which is good, but after todays action I would sit back and watch for awhile and make it prove itself first.

New Born and Ski Thanx for LAB input!

Ski and NB .........love you guys......figuratively speaking of course......LOL.....your input is extremely educational to me. Ski after taking a small beating on HOM .......you get a little gun shy . I will watch LAB carefully .....I do think it will bounce off the support line indicated on the charts!

I think it will continue to drop tomorrow to fill the gap or support around $10.50 but to take an entry there would be to aggressive for me. I guess you were speaking for yourself about HOM. I got beat up pretty good but I believe I remember you posting that you were in around $6.10. Where did you get out at if I may ask. I bailed a little below my normal stop loss of 7% but if you read my posts I lucked out to get out there.

              • LAB-daily chart lose and wide. Weekly bumping into R. What is it with LAB that looks good if I may ask? I could be missing something.

                  Runner,
I was only commenting on the stock because I scan for stocks that have hit lows and LAB came up in one of the scans. I then watch them for reversals off the bottoms and try to catch them for short swing trades, as they make the right side of their bases. I catch alot of swings that way but it's alot of work keeping an eye on their charts as there are alot of them. If you look at the weekly you'll see that LAB is in the process of doing just that. Recently they have raised guidance twice an I think that has been part of the cause for the move up. Other than that I don't think that the stock is that interesting. I was just commenting on Pete's post to NB.

I am thinking tomorrow the market will shoot ahead. The bulls will stampede with conviction, and your GGB play will trigger. Best to ya!

Ski Unfortunately for me bought HOM at 6.15 and sold at 4.96 ouch!. I put in a market order to sell with Scott trade ..and as usual it took time for the order to be processed and I got a price much lower than when I put in my market order. I think Ameritrade has better and faster execution . Oh well it is not my first mistake and neither will it be my last .....I did close a trade on TIE that day that made up for my loss. When buying overvalued hot stox one alway does run the risk of getting chowdered. better days are coming .....ski have a merry christmas and happy new year!

Pete, I never had a problem before the situation with HOM and my stop so I can say I'm unhappy with them overall. But if that is a recurring thing with Scottrade then you should consider finding another online broker. I'm looking into IB and am seriously considering opening an account and moving everything over there. Lye also expressed his opinion on Ameritrade. I have friends who use them also and they seem to be happy. That was a pretty big hit on HOM for you. Thanks for the Merry Christmas and here's wishing you and yours the same. Merry Christmas and a safe, prosperous, and happy New Year. Ed
