    FDG and Babies

We haven't talked about FDG in a while. I've held on to 1/2 of my position. Without the big divy it would be gone ,but with it, it's a whole different story. What do you see in the long term for FDG? Thanks

    billyjoe
Thank you BillyJoe, and God bless you. We love having children. Our oldest will be 13 in June, and having a new baby around every two or three years helps keep the house in full use and the parents young. They leave the house soon enough, that's for sure.

FDG: If I could get out of this last half position at breakeven I'd leave. If not, the option chain is fairly good and I'd suck all the cash out of them I could. Projections for profits the rest of the year are to be lower. There are so many other stocks out there that look strong--no need to hold a range bound stock like FDG. Divys will be lower next quarter . . . .

    Looking at the options:
May $40 call nets you $30
    June $40 call $85
    Dec $10 $210
    Jan O7 call $220

          Pete's Sweets:
NTO:beautiful chart, but note those two black candles the last two days? Looks like she'll pullback for a day or two. Twilight Zone stock: no target. Oversold on weekly RSI and touching the zone on the daily. No option chain. Here's another Pete stock that if you enter, honor thy stops.

WEL: $5.88 target with ascending triangle on the daily (has not yet broken out). The stock has been running since January 06 on the STOs. Adman's gut tells me that WEL is at a top right now--at least for a month or so. Here's why: we are having some very wide swings the last month. That wide volatility is usually indicative of a top. I see a retest of the $1.60 support coming. The safe way to play this one is to wait and buy the breakout above $2.50 and look for a 70 cent move.

You know I could be wrong, don't you? If you are bullish, be careful.

            Su

I have been saying that SU is a strong buy. I will say that earnings come out MAY 4, and I would say buy it today and hang on. I am looking for a strong jump.

Scared to hold during earnings? SU has a HUGE option chain. It is $90 today and I am looking that SU may even possibly jump to $100 on earnings. Yes, I said a 10% pop.

I could be wrong . . . but I am playing this one long.

              Su

SU currently has a price target of $109. Like to milk some of that cream out of this one for cheap? Simple: buy the $90 JAN 07 calls for $1210 per contract. Too much money? Then SELL the $100 JAN O7 calls for $960, or in other words, it will cost you $250 for the potential to take $1000 out of SU by JAN 07. Now isn't that cheaper than spending $9000 to buy 100 shares? And you can't lose more than $250, either.

Just a friendly reminder that the US Gov't reports gasoline stores today around 10:30EST.

                • Hey NB,
Can you steer me toward web-site, book , etc to get functional knowledge of options in order to make sense of trade like the one you're prosing w/ the SU options.

                  Thanks

                  PS good looking kid!

                    Hey Olegeezer,
I wanted to send you a private message the other day and couldn't correctly spell "olegeezer."

Thanks for the compliment--we are enjoying this child.

SU--hope you are still in. Earnings tomorrow.

Are you with Interactive Brokers? If not, could you tell me which brokerage firm you are with?

                    What site to visit:http://www.cboe.com/Strategies/BuyingCalls.aspx

For SU, the strategy is really simple: buy the $90 call, which means that between now and Jan O7 you can call 100 shares of SU to yourself for $90. Sell the $100 call, which means you'd receive money to sell the stock to someone else for $100 per share. The total transaction will cost you $250, but you have between now and Jan O7 for SU to rise above $92.50 (your breakeven point). If SU hits $100, you make $750 profit.

                      Cde

Don't remember which thread was last posting on gold, so i'm sorry if I'm gumming up the works here (maybe a thread for gold???), anyway, please have a look at the weekly chart of CDE. I've heard you boys speak of a "tweezer" before. Is this it? and what does it mean? It's obviously a double bottom but other than that, any special signifance to "the tweezer?"
                      thanks.

                        NO--shadylady--
Sorry, not a tweezer bottom. And not really a double bottom, because the lowest price is not the same. If you want to learn about tweezer bottoms, click on this link: http://www.hotcandlestick.com/direct...r%20Bottom.htm

Would you like to make some dough? Like a cheap investment to do so? Then forget CDE and buy the $40 JAN 07 call on PEIX for $7.40 and SELL the JAN 07 $50 call for $4.30. Your $3.10 will earn you $10.00 if PEIX hits $50+, and the chart says $64.50 or more is coming in style. The most you could lose is $310, and you could gain at least $1000-$310.

PEIX: buy those calls, will ya? If you can read this chart, buy the calls! Buy those JAN 07 calls and give yourself plenty of time to profit.
