One of my most favorite stocks Wooish. I have been a buyer from the 3.75 range with this stock and have exited at several 7% losses from that level. Most recently bought in the $1.30 range and exited with another 7% loss. But I love the company and the management and when the worm turns those owning it will prosper. I am still a buyer with it and am going to pick up another 4-5,000 shares this week. I cannot believe that it has fallen this far. I know they are buying up property whenever they can at depressed prices and it will pay off. You can't go wrong it if you buy and exit at a 7% loss. Right now I would say I am off somewhere around 1500 on several trades I have made in it. But the worm will turn and as long as you stick to your plan you will eventually make out great with this stock.

The market may eventually recover; not necessarily individual stocks.

Sorry billy. I'm not losing any sleep, because have learned in the past that the market always eventually comes back. My IRA is doing well at least.

Woo, I'm down a lot too. This is the one that really killed me:

"Dendreon’s August 3, 2011, announcement that its financial results would be below analysts’ expectations and its withdrawal of financial projections for the full year shocked investors and analysts alike. On the news, the company’s stock dropped from a closing price of $33.65 on August 3, 2011, to an opening price of $12.73 on August 4, 2011. Dendreon is trading below $10 as of this release." I doubled down at 12 and got out finally at 10.98. Ouch ouch ouch. (trading at 8.90 in premarket today)

Louetta has been quiet for a couple of months, but before that was posting on Riverbabe's Baby Biotechs, Louetta's Lore and Today's Wild-ass Pick. Bet she'd love to hear from you.

    Wooish,
Posted below on NYB. Still like the stock and think at this level is a bargain.

    Billy,
I agree with you. Some stocks regardless of their fundamental strength are just in terrible sectors. Right now banks are in the worst sectors and are getting hammered regardless of fundamental strength. Here is a chart with my feelings on NYB. As long as it continues to pay it's divy you are making money, especially if the divy is getting ploughed back into more shares. Being able to buy more at cheaper prices with money you can afford to spend and sit on is why and how the rich get richer. Plus they know you cannot beat strong dividends with a stick. I would not condemn anyone being a buyer right here at these levels, but myself, I am waiting for it to cross back above it's 20 ma and hold that level before I would buy in again. Once it gets back above that blue line moving average I would feel more comfortable. Two important lines of resistance and support working here. The 20 ema as support and the 50 ema as resistance. It could use some help from the market in general which is waiting for some good news like job creation or some strong Republican candidate, like Christie, to come along to fill it's sails with some wind. I would wait a bit more. What is the difference in an entry at $12.50/12.75 vs $12.35 if it moves back to the $16 range or higher.

    Ski,
I'm certainly not a mathematician, but it seems as if a person was a long time holder of a high dividend paying stock and the stock was devalued by 30%, by reinvesting the divys you'd actually be ahead when the stock got back to normal levels, especially if it took 3-5 years. Assuming the div. was not cut. Does this make sense? NJR is holding up well price wise while others, such as NYB are struggling now and for at least months to come.

I have some fund ready when you think it's bottom on JBII. I think it's worth the risk consider the upside potential.

Keep an eye on JBII....I wouldn't touch it right now, but this sell off may just create another opportunity. Stay tuned....
