Guys I need some imput on these three stocks. PETS, ELN, and HOM. Trying to figure out which one to use this week in the POTW and just wanted to see what anyone else's take on them would be for this coming week. I own both PETS and ELN an am looking for an entry trigger with HOM Monday if it presents itself. Can I get some imput please.

      Ski,
HOM is just about back to it's 50dma and is showing up at the top of the screens again after being down a few weeks. Last weeks performance was its best in at least 8 weeks. I can't read charts well enough to interpret what it all means. Was up on a bit more than average volume wed & thurs. Last big volume was down 2 days almost a month ago. I've still got hope for this one. Can't get an estimate on next quarter earnings, but estimates for '06 are up about 85%. HOM revised earnings up 3 times in '05.

        Billyjoe,
I've been keeping a close eye on it. It's been showing some strength this past week an I'm looking for an entry maybe this Monday or this week. I was trying to make up my mind between the 3 stocks for this week's POTW contest. It did real good last week. Just trying to get a concensus on how others felt about the 3 stocks. It was the last one standing on your portfolio last week wasn't it? Thanks Billyjoe.

        • Ski, I do not like the daily on HOM. I have not been following it but it does not fit my style. If it stalls right here it might even be good on the short side. For now HOM’s trend is down. I think better set-ups will present themselves in the near future. As for me I’ll leave it alone.

            • Ski, I like pets acceleration off the 50dma from back around Dec. Nice price action and trend. I see last trigger long off the Pullback was on 1/4/6. I also like the quick retest of the trigger area. Now I’d be cautious to see that it does not stall near old highs. PETS can trade a little wide looking off the price bars. I’d hang in and if you got in off the Dec 50 MA One could try to capture a larger move with stop below the last swing low.

              • ELN- I want the P/B on it and I'll not chase it from here

Runner, I'm in from $13.99. I thought PETS was going off on Friday as it went progressively higher from the open to $15.40 range but then something happened with it an it fell back to $14.86. I was glad to see it hold although it fell below the open price of $14.92. I bought ELN Friday morning at $14.10 and thought it was going to go off but the same thing happened with it that happened with PETS. That had been happening with ELN all of last week. Jump ahead only to fall back. At least it held some of it's gains Friday. I'm still holding it and PETS. Was just trying to figure out what I wanted to play in this week's POTW. Thanks for your thoughts.

                  • Ski here is the sub-group action on PETS. Most sectors I track went off last week. Maybe this will go off, but for now I see it lagging

Runner, I think PETS will see some upward movement this week. I've narrowed it down to PETS for my pick this week over ELN and HOM. But I like HOM at this point and will be looking for an entry if it makes a move. More on what I'll be looking for on that later. Spike what do you think of this wave count. I was also considering the 1 and 2 could have been moved over to where the 1 started where the 2 is and the 2 would be moved to the bottom of those two small black candles just below the 3. The rest would remain the same.

                        • TRO is very extended after its series of breakaway and continuation gaps. It may be a good idea to wait for a pullback to or near the 20-day EMA.

Now TRAD is above that 15.50, what to do?

Looks like TRAD is hugging $16 and I already sold my position earleir today.

Is it just me being crazy, but doesn't it really look overbought now? Might it be a juicy short around this area for an eventual pull back to the breakout area of 14.40?

                            Happy trading!

                                Pete,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Was in several meetings up until a few minutes ago. One of the reasons I always wait until at least 10 am before entering a position is that on these gaps up or down the larger percentage of them always pullback to near their previous days closing price and then resume whatever direction they are going to go in. In this particular case waiting that 1/2 hr.would have been beneficial in that you could have gotten it around 14.50 or so. But that doesn't matter now that you are in the trade. Personally I would have to agree with Dave in his take on it with the several big gaps up over the last several days. Speaking only from the charts, daily and weekly, they both are showing those gaps. When I see that type of a series of gaps in a relatively short period of time I usually shy away from the stock. I prefer a much more orderly steady climb. It looks as if there is some interest coming back into the stock right now so it may turn out very well for you. At this moment it is trading at $14.71, so you're only down a few cents. Good luck with it an sorry could'nt get back to you sooner. Good luck with it. Ed
