  • Here is what I see on a daily chart of ACOR. It tried to break but was rejected. I'd be careful on this one.. Historic volatility is a whooping 329. That is huge and so moves can come very violently...

      Runner,
Are you saying you like it better to the upside or the downside?

No changes today for me although I got a late start on where we were going (see Lou's thread if you are interested in that) because of the LVLT eps and action pre-m...But after an hour I decided to hold on and I took off.

Runner...How is your volatility number calculated?

Here is what I like about HWCC. It needs a couple of days to make that handle and to get down to my target entry level of 23 /23.25.

          • Ski, thus far ACOR’s trend is up. Now as for current action I would have to say I’m neutral on it. In other works I don’t know. One thing for sure it did try to bust the peanut but was rejected. This does not bode well with the bulls. I would get nervous over 17.15 as far as being short. Ski a high volatile stock like this is and often very unpredictable. I saw your post about the news blip. I don’t pay attention to news blips as they often mislead people in the wrong direction. If you are on the right side of this play it could reward you in a rapid fashion…. Good Luck w/it

What is the formula...or basically how is it calculated?

                  • Ski, I did a check in my data base and ACOR has the 2nd highest volatility rating out of about 8,000 stock. CSN is the highest currently..LMRA has a very high reading and chart trying to bust...

...looking good here. Could get beaten down some more but this is a good place to start. I call it my Garp trade. No, not growth at a reasonable price, but rather from the movie The World According to Garp. Remember when he's looking to buy a house and a plane crashes into one, so he buys it? That's kinda my reasoning here.

So, you don't think it will get any cheaper? You are aware of the latest news article for CCJ, right? LINK I would be concerned if I was long right now. If I wanted uranium, and a good value, I would go with USU

No...I said it could get beaten down some more. CCJ is still relatively expensive but its considered the blue chip of uranium miners and processors, so you could argue it's P/E is justified. USU..if memory serves me right got demolished not too long ago on fundamentals and I believe its just a small-time player, I am going on memory on this one and haven't looked at it for quite a few months. Isn't it also an amex stock?

..I'm looking to scale into this one, not go hog wild. I would rather be buying on fear than elation any day.
