                    Ski,
MO closes down a few cents on monstrous volume after 3 P.M. This tells me something big is coming tomorrow but nobody is sure if it's bullish or bearish.

Here is the members portfolios for today. There has been some profit taking as is shown in the exit column numbers. Peanuts is holding on to TGE unti it comes back or he croaks. Whichever comes first. Some really nice plays and stocks in these portfolios.

                        Ski,

I'm assuming you don't use stops then (since you're still in the postion) ACOR took out that swing high early in the day and to my surprise it sold off...well that was a real quick trade for me, in and out in one day for a quick profit, can't complain.

As far as what I saw in the set-up was a strong up-trend and then pull back to support. And the trigger was yesterday's high being taken out today. That's it!

I always use stops. It is just whether I place a physical one beforehand or keep a close eye on it and if it breaches my 7% loss point I exit the position. The reason I didn't exit this morning was that I didn't have a physical stop set in place and was figuring on watching the play closely all day. I had a nice 1.32 gain going on in it. I think what was part of what triggered that spike up this morning was this little tidbit that came across the Briefing.com newswires early this morning:

This item had it go way off in the pre-market and it gapped up pretty strongly at the open. If I would have had a stop in place the chances of it jumping the stop would have been real good and I would have been out of the play at the opening price which was 17.13. It closed yesterday at 16.42 so today's open was .71 higher. I lost more than half my gains at the open and would have been out if I had a stop in place. I could have probably exited at 17.13 or thereabouts but I never liked it to the upside today even with the gap up and it didn't hold the gains today anyway. I really thought that it wouldn't hold the gap up and would come back around 10/11 am but it took longer. I was watching it all day and could have exited on several occassions. It dropped intraday to a low of day at 16.70 an I could have easily gotten out around there or 16.89/16.90 range with a decent gain but I think it stalls and falls tomorrow as it didn't have the strength to hold todays gains. That's why I'm still holding. I think that news bite is what caused todays gap up. I don't like the chart to the upside at all right now. We both got what we were looking for but I wouldn't be long in it right now.

Do you want to post the entry and exit on your ACOR play and I'll put it in your port.

Here's what I think is going on with ACOR today. First the 15 min. intraday chart:

                              And the daily chart:

BTW, what was your entry and exit. Where did you catch it at the open or did you get in during the pre-market. It opened at 17.13.
