Spike's Scientific Stock Analysis

Greetings,
Just as I was ready to give up on HTE,it makes a little move for no reason.
On another note,Kurt Wulff has a FA upside for PTR of 46%,with political risk as the biggest downside.Currently pays almost 5%,(not bad NBB,since it only qualifies for 15% div. taxation.)
Per this chart does this look likely?

Nice one HTE.

PTR: recent weekly boom and 98.50 upper channel to target, nice money flow, plenty of room to weekly channel short area upper channel from the top. Ascending triangle daily breakout and with solid vol by price behind it, and today it took out a recent channel short day. Looks bullish to me. Channel turn up today green lights taking the closing price or intraday pivot tomorrow. Now is the time to pounce from the bushes!

Spike, i'm all setup in my IB account but I don't know how to connect it to the QT, when I select IB, it asks me for a IP address and not a username/pass... Also, I'm new to this system, I see they have webtrader and TWS...which one do you use?

Hey dude.

You may have done this already, but make sure that in TWS, Configuration - API - Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients checkbox is checked.
And TWS needs to be open and running for QT to get the data.

Got it! Thanks spike...This TWS is pretty complex proggie... I probably should read the manual or something...This isn't the Scottrader...LOL

no I haven't wanted or needed to. I actually prefer indicators in the historical charts. Then there is Bigcharts as another option for intraday charts. And I really like prophet.nets java charts too. http://www.prophet.net/analyze/javacharts.jsp?symbol=$indu . Another factor against it was at one stage QT was very processor resource hungry just with 2 days of data in it (especially tick data which I need), and adding an extra 3 days to it would only make matters worse. I think they have improved/lowered the resource requirements these days but I still don't really have a need for tick data storage beyond 2 days. If the ads got more invasive I definately would though.

You show many stocks with bullish charts and I know you can't buy them all. Is there a pattern that would make you jump up and head to the computer terminal to place an immediate buy order ? Could you show us such a pattern , hand drawn or a real stock. Thanks

You got me all wrong. I enjoy an occasional chart with my FA . Isn't it called FA with momentum? And where is the 5th member of your TA team.?

Just playing with you guys. I don't know if we are going to be able to get another TA guy to step up. Our funding is limited with the big salaries and contracts the rest of us are commanding so it may be hard to get someone high caliber to come in.

DMK, I know it is for fun, but my style of trading varies from D/T’s to short swings. I’ll be watching you guys from the sidelines. Really I feel we all have nothing to prove as to who is the biggest or best. What matters to each of us is our performance over time. The last few weeks have about made my year and this is what counts. I entered several positions that I’ve posted on my thread and the results are staggering.. You’ll never hear me toot my horn as I think being humble is important. I also understand how quickly things can be taken away, but It sure does feel good when you land a few that rock the house. I entered 8 positions with gains off all 8, this just does not happen very often. Currently I’m back in stalking mode. I do like RIO and steel in general.

I’m also adjusting my trails in the attempt to capture more gains. I bailed on a few huge winners to fast, but I did trade my plan and that is what is important. I also need to adjust my time plan. If I got caught up in a sideways market I’d bail and move on to something else. This I need to rethink and come up with some other rules. I’ve been playing the momo game and getting in stocks that most would not and they are paying off pretty well, but time in target is reduced since the herd is attacking. These plays I try not to over stay my welcome and if the trade goes against me in the first day I’m gone. In fact most of my trades that worked well did so from the trigger point. Not sure why that is, but I love to be in the positive side shortly after entry..

Sorry for rambling just chilling out on my patio looking at the awesome surroundings and just thinking out loud.. Wish all well and may the force be with you all........
