I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. New-born Baby's Cans: Making Money in a Down Market
IF you had Interactive Brokers as your brokerage firm, the trading fees are only .02 CD per share. Not bad. Now let's consider AY.UN. It usually trades up to 12.00 CD or more per share. Invariably, it drops down to 11.60 or so each month. It pays a .16 divy. Now if you sell the day before the divy for 12.00, and buy it back about 5 days later for 11.60, that's .40 CD or about two month's worth of dividends. See what I mean?
Yesterday was payday if you held a Can in your Scottrade acct. Actually payday for a majority of Cans is the 15th of each month, but because the 15th was a Saturday this month, payday was Monday the 17th. Scottrade takes two/three days to post your divy.
It is nice to receive a 1.5% divy check each month. Here's a little known dividend fact from Richard Young, who has a newsletter called INTELLIGENT INVESTOR. "Since 1927, a dollar invested in dividend paying stocks have grown 22 times more than a dollar invested in so-called growth stocks."
One thing about a dividend paying stock: as long as it can pay the dividend, it tends to hold its value because it has value. Especially nice are these Cans paying monthly dividends, because the proximity of the dividend tends to prevent unitholders from dumping the stock when they know that another check is just days away.
Keep talking on this thread about your play. Please post before and after you purchase your shares. I am going to jump in there with you this time. Also, PWI is a good play at 21.50 or so. Check the chart for yourself. I have been watching it for awhile.
Greetings NBB,
The selloff occurs usually the same time, about 1hr into the session,it can rack your nerves,as these dont usually wiggle more than 1% a day,to see them drop 5 - 7 % in a wink can make you flinch at buying.
I look to grab when it gets near 50dma and wait to level off, then hit the button.
Lots of times its back close to the open within a day.
Yes, two things. When I joined MM last year, I was new to serious investing. In college I had dabbled in the markets and made some small change, but last year I got serious about it.
So when I signed up for this forum, they asked for a user name. I chose New-born Baby because (1) I was new to serious investing, and (2) because the Bible teaches that "except a man be born-again, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." (John 3:3,5,7,. The new birth that Jesus speaks about is the spiritual birth that God gives when a man recognizes that he is a sinner, and that because God judges every single sin, he is on his way to the lake of fire (Hell), and therefore calls upon Jesus Christ to save him from his sins. When the sinner calls upon Jesus to save him, he is "born again." And since I was born again, and am now a preacher, I use the name "New-born baby."
That is a very brief explanation of the new birth. If you wish to contact me, go to the User Control panel and send me an email. I'll send you a more thorough explanation via USPS. If you personally haven't been born again, it is well worth looking into because Jesus said that was the requirement for eternal life (John 3:3-1.
Best investing to you always. And God bless you and yours.
