    • Ski...come back when you're feeling better. I'm betting that peanuts would be one of the first to welcome you back. Good luck.

If you were serious about trading stocks would you find anything of value being discussed here? Take a good close look at the commentary being posted. Anything that would catch a serious traders interest and want to make them come back and become a participant. Anything at all worthwhile being discussed about stocks in general or any type of pertinent stock or trading information coming out of this site. Anything at all of valuable interest to stimulate some worthwhile stock discussion either technically or fundamentally based. What has happened? It's a travesty.
And then you have characters like Cosmic who at one time I genuinely felt and expressed some compassion and pity for his situation. His latest posts are a clear example of how low this site has come. To actually contend with and put up with this type of posting is in itself a clear indication of how far this site has fallen. Aside from being as far from decent stock commentary as you could be it's not even worthwhile idle chatter. It's sad, disheartening and regardless of whether or not you ever talk about another stock this type of posting only reinforces that old axiom "birds of a feather flock together". Karel really ought to tell Cosmic to hit the road and cut him off. What has happened to talking about stocks, posting charts, and the interaction that was once so evident here. Where has all the serious stock talk gone? This has become more of a sewing circle of idle chatter than a stock discussion orientated forum. And if you don't see or realize this then you are deceiving yourselves. Ernie should take a good look at what has become of his stock forum because it is anything but what would be considered serious stock talk. And if you think I am wrong then prove it and show me any really worthwhile stock discussion that has come out of here recently. Show me one posted chart or continuing discussion where there were more than several posts discussing a stock or the markets in general in some serious vein.
There was a time, not so long ago, when no one could have disputed that this was a pretty outstanding group of traders and that the discussion taking place here was on a par with or better than anything like it on the internet. Could you honestly say that right now and defend your position. I don't think so. Have at me at least it might be more stimulating that what I have been reading or seen posted here of late.

I basically come once in awhile to see who is getting lucky in the POTW contest, and maybe once or twice a month post a 2 line update on a screen of mine. I agree that the depth of stock discussion has dipped lately, but there are still very sharp (and opinionated) people here who we could have great discussions and ideas from. Instead of leaving, why not stay and encourage the kind of posting you're looking for?

I for one am glad that Karel's policy (correct me if I'm wrong) is pretty much "hands off, unless its spam, threats, or fraud". Its not too hard to ignore the dumb threads.

I think that level of stock discussion, charts, and debate left when spikefader basically ended his thread, and pretty much everyone (myself included) forgot about everything on this site except for POTW.

I wonder if Earnie even reads this site anymore. He used to post more often than he does now.

I agree that at one time, a year and a half or two years ago this site was a great source of stock ideas and discussion. I think it can be that way again. Admittedly, I hadn't kept up with your postings very much, but what I did read showed me that you are a sharp trader with good ideas and it's too bad you aren't around anymore.

All you are doing is reiterating what you said the day you supposedly left...Obviously you do not get around the Net a whole lot...I used to be in a lot more, but I'm still in 6 forums and 3 chats...It has dried up everywhere...'Ya know why?...Because most people are not making any money in this market....Your high and mighty attitude isn't gonna change that.

Since you seem to think you are better than most everybody else, why don't you take the BULL BY THE HORNS and lead a worthwhile discussion?...Nobody is twisting your arm to read the myriad of other threads that you think are garbage. In fact...What's to stop you from starting your own forum and running it the way you want?

I'm surprised that a guy who is 8 or 9 years older than I am still acts like a whiner.

Doug, you may be right about that. I've often wondered where all the hundreds of posters who used to frequent the aol boards went. I see some of them elsewhere but I think you're right. Its either that they've given up trying to make quick money and have gotten religion realizing that they're better off investing instead of trading. In Ski's case I don't think we know the whole story but he's not entirely wrong about the content of this site.

I like coming here from time to time because I like to share my experience with others (and to argue with the right-wing coulter cult) I know from reading many posts in this site that most here are just here for the fun and that their limited knowledge has been shaped by bad decisions and not learning from those bad decisions or even knowing that they're bad. If I can help just one person not to make one bad decision or learn from their mistakes I find that more rewarding than hanging out at a site of traders where all of the discussion is about trades and nothing else (I frequent such a site and to be honest the traders there have their own styles that don't fit mine so I rarely follow their trades, and I'm guessing they rarely follow mine--).

But what's interesting Doug, is that that other trader site has been drying up lately, so I think you may be onto something. And does this mean that the long, long bull market is finally coming to an end? That's even more interesting to me...

Actually, I've noticed a continuous drop off in Net participation since the market dropped last May. At first I thought it would turn around when the market got better...But it seems to have gotten worse, especially since January.

As far as Ski...I think he offered some useful stuff here...The only thing that bugs me is his constant complaining about others...To be honest, it even came to my mind that maybe something happened in his non-forum life that caused the change in attitude...Although that was just a hunch...Doug

Ski....it's good to see you are alive and well. The stock talk comes and goes. As long as I keep making picks, this forum will draw new interested stock pickers. There are billions of them out there and we only need a few hundred to make this forum go.

I'm in a slump now with my picks, but they will rally and I think when I put together a nice string, some new and old folks will be posting more often and with more interesting ideas for all.

                      Be well...

Here is one that I have traded from the low 5 levels recently and I think is worth watching for a long play. Here is the daily chart with a few thoughts:

Sorry Karel. You know sometimes when I capture them on snagit they look like they are going to be ok but I have to learn to go by the numbers because they give them to me right there before I click done. Apparantly wasn't looking on this one.

I was just going to post that DYN is getting near an entry point.

I bought DYN at 9.36 - long. This could be the continuation of the 5th wave up or the end of the B wave up but I think the 5th is more logical if I even have the count right in the first place. I'm not going to take a loss on this play from this point. So I would sell at my entry.
