i got out of Htgc @ 13.42 on friday Probably not the best decision i've made. looks like it might be a rounding top though.

I played WYNN in the POTW this week and usually like to own my picks. This one gapped up at the open over 2 points and never came back which caused me to miss the play. It was up over 6 points at one time today. MED continues to run up and closed today at 14.37. That more than 5 points so far. Billyjoe closed out a nice play in half his position in WLT for more than a 5 point gain. Very nice play Billyjoe. Here's todays sheet:

Nice catch on Med Ski...that's a huge move in a pretty short period of time.
Currently, I'm trading with eyes in the back of my head. I can't believe the strength of this market but it made some very convincing moves today that caught alot of people off guard. I'm a little suspicious of oil stuff and coal too...those charts are either running out of gas or maybe they're just taking a little breather.
I spent quite a bit of time setting up alerts this weekend and there were as many long and short alerts. So far today, 2 were triggered, HL and WFR. I didn't see the WFR alert because I was out walking the rifle this afternoon, but HL popped up this am and maybe has legs. With at the same time, the dollar bounced back from the dead today so precious metals could take a while to gain momentum again. There are some other silver stocks that look good too.
I have been adding some more to my uranium holdings and noticed that mega uranium was on sale today for a silly reason as near as I can tell (ie Pine Tree got in trouble for insider trading or something like that which has nothing to do with mega, so I'm hoping it was a good buying opportunity like CCJ was a few weeks ago). These uranium plays are not trades for me and I expect to hold them for many years if not decades (so a few bucks on the buy side means little in the long run). The reason I'm so sure about this long term strategy is simply because of global warming and climate change. Nuclear energy has to be the future and coal the big loser in my estimation.
Oil, that's a toss up since its hard to replace it at this stage, at least in this country. Brasil has basically switched to ethanol entirely but in our protectionist, welfare-state country that will never happen because once subsidies are established for farmers or steel makers, they're very hard if not impossible to remove. And the cheapest and most cost effective way to make ethanol is from cane, not corn. But sugar is and will always be too expensive to convert to ethanol in this country because of that welfare racket. Oh well, you can't fight city hall.
But, I'm wondering about Dole...seems to me that they could set up a sweet little ethanol operation with all their pineapple waste, eh?

Latest holdings - FYI
ACAS long @ 43.50 11/14 - ex div today, steady gainer for a while; I wouldn't have bought this one, in its extended state, if it weren't for the big dip a couple of weeks ago and the subsequent sparkling recovery
FTGX long @ 6.05 11/28ff - firmed at 5.50, so expecting more upside; started buying it a little too soon
THI long @ 30.70 11/29 - post-spinoff issue, relatively steady gainer; have also traded it previouslyLast edited by Guest; 12-05-2006, 03:45 AM.

I guess that you are giving me permission to place these issues into a tracking portfolio for you in this tread. It would seem so with this lastest post. Thanks and I will take care of the rest. Just post your exits and entries here when you make them. Thanks Park.
Tatnic,
I would put a port on the sheet for you if you would care to participate. Just place whatever stocks you own or want in the port in a list here and I'll take care of the rest. I think it would be interesting to see what you are holding and whatever trades you make in the future. I don't own any and haven't traded anything dealing with uranium so it would be interesting to see what you are accumulating or holding. No big deal though. I appreciate the postings of your thoughts on the markets and stocks in general regardless. Please keep it up. Thanks.
BTW, did you shoot one today? I've been striper fishing everyday and no cigar. Can't believe I haven't caught one yet. Bought the bow license but haven't had a chance to get out yet and looks like I will miss the first part of bow season. Jersey has a winter bow season which starts after Jan. 1st. but it's cold standing in a tree stand after the 1st of the year.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

If anyone is scared of MED's lofty share price, take a look at a listed competitor: MLP This sucker is primed to run
MED looks to be entering an area of technical resistance. Good luck to the longs here...
edit: and hey, if you buy this company, you can always tell your friends, "I own land in Hawaii," and mean it...Hide not your talents.

I just exited MED at 14.77.
Forgot to mention that I entered WYNN at 91.30. Only a half position.Last edited by skiracer; 12-05-2006, 01:09 PM.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR
