Went shopping today, if you can call waiting in line 4 hours to buy a Nintendo Wii shopping?! I was #6. They gave out 40 numbers total after security told them we had to move because we were blocking mall traffic. What fun!

    Also bought AAPL@ 91.27; OMG @ 48.4499; HOS @ 38.16; MEOH @ 25.79; CELL @ 14.49.

Talk about spending big bucks today! Now I'm broke so have to sit tight for a while.

Will post later re. the rationale. I need to sit down with a nice strong one and a Sex & the City DVD! LOL Riverbabe

On second thought, I'd better give some rationale before that strong one at 3o'clock in the afternoon!!!

AAPL - well, it's stalled right now, but it's due to go up again. It needed a breather. I bought it a dollar under where I sold it to take profits last week, and expected to get back in again. This looked like a good entry.

CELL - a momentum stock that lost a little momentum today. Will watch this one closely. It has gone from a head and shoulders pattern to what looks like building the right side off a double bottom. It looks like the bulls stopped the shorts in their tracks. What say you Newborn Baby? I don't see it hitting much resistance until about 17.38.

I bought some low-P/E industrials today, MEOH, OMG and HOS, because it looks like sector rotation may be swinging that way and away from technology.

Would have gotten back into GME, but ran out of off margin money for today. I still need to buy one more Nintendo Wii (this one for me!). I'm spending money like a drunken sailor! Speaking of which...

          LOL!!! Don't I wish!!!

BTW, the XBOX 360 is SO..o..o LAST YEAR!!!! The Wii's are flying off the UPS man's truck before they even hit the stores!!! Now I have to find 2 of something called a "numchuck" or something like that. They are harder to find than hen's teeth! Got the last two of the extra controllers today.

                Ski,
Bought LTD @ 31.31. Even Newborn likes it (parent of Victoria's Secret).
About time I got some retail.

I sold 20% of my original ICOC buy at an avg of 6.15 today. As I mentioned I already sold 30% of it at 7.06 prior to us posting our lists here on this thread...Now we roll the dice on EPS...Doug

                  • Peanut, you don't use stochastics to trigger a buy until the fast line rises beyond the 20 level. BEWARE! As you know, a stock can remain oversold or overbought for WEEKS at a time.

                      Thanks Park,

I wasn't using the fast stochastics as a buy indicator, only meant to show it as a reason to watch for long opportunities at bottoming points. It is crazy how RSI and stochastics can sometimes remain in one area for so long while the stock continues to run. I like how it made its way into the overbought area recently, as well. Seems to me that it is drawing interest from someone out there...

I agree that it needs to prove itself before confirming a long position. If you want to gamble on the stochastics and MA's, now doesn't seem like a bad area to pick up a enough shares that won't hurt you if you lose, but will reward you if the stock behaves well... depends on the person, I guess

I would appreciate soe input on URZ. It looks like it might be in a mini symmetrical triangle right now. I am not sure how to proceed from here. It has been an extraordinarily profitable and predictable stock in the past, and I suggest that everyone look into trading it.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

                          Bmrn

This is a great little biotech company with which I have had some personal experience and interest in for a very long time. Among products in its great pipeline is "phenylase" used to treat phenylketonuria (PKU) which a member of my immediate family has. It is also now a great takeover candidate, according to thestreet.com today.

Taking a flier on this one before it goes up up and away. Bot BMRN @ 17.7486 (on margin, but will remedy that situation very soon). Riverbabe

For best downside protection, should have bought it at no more than 105% of its pivot, which was 3.00/sh. Watch it to see whether it will retrace back to that area, then consider a buy on a bounce if the technicals are supportive. Don't chase a breakout that is >10% beyond the previous pivot point.
